We did the sunset Valley of Fire tour. Lucas, our pilot, made this trip the best heli experience I ever had. Such a cool guy, with a great sense of humor and perfect feeling for when and what to explain. It was absolutely worth every penny.

About Valley of Fire State Park.

Valley of Fire is Nevada's first state park, dedicated in 1935, about 60 miles northeast of the Las Vegas Strip. Its 40,000 acres of Aztec sandstone began as sand dunes roughly 150 million years ago, then were lifted, faulted and cut by water and wind into the arches, domes and slot passages you fly over today. In low sun the whole valley looks like it is burning, which is where the name comes from.

People have been coming here for more than 10,000 years, and the petroglyphs they left on the canyon walls are still visible. Film crews and car commercials use the park as a stand-in for other planets. By car it is a 50 minute drive each way and a long walk between viewpoints. By helicopter you see the entire valley in a few minutes and land on a plateau you cannot reach by road.

Our Valley of Fire helicopter tours run daily from Las Vegas with daylight and sunset departures, and can be combined with a Grand Canyon flight. Every tour includes the champagne landing, pilot narration and hotel transfers.

Questions before you book.

How early do I need to be at the heliport?

Thirty minutes before departure. Check-in, weigh-in and a short safety briefing happen before every flight. If you use our hotel pickup, the driver's timing already includes this.

What do I bring?

A valid photo ID and the credit card you booked with. Bring a camera or a charged phone. In summer the landing site is hot, in winter evenings are cold, so dress for the desert, not the casino.

Is there a weight limit?

Passengers over 250 lbs (112 kg) need to purchase an additional seat so the aircraft can be balanced correctly. Everyone is weighed at check-in.

How many people are on the helicopter?

Up to six passengers plus the pilot. Shared tours need a minimum number of passengers to operate. If you want the whole aircraft, ask about a private charter.

Can I add the sunset departure to the standard tour?

Yes. The twilight departure is an extra $69 per person on the landing tour, or book the sunset landing tour directly at $399.

Where do you fly from?

Our own VIP heliport at 5596 Haven Street, Las Vegas, about 15 minutes from the Strip. Transfers from Las Vegas resort hotels are included with every tour on this page.
